Myanmar President Htin Kyaw is currently on an official six-day visit to China. China's president extended a personal invitation to his Myanmar counterpart. "The visit shows how important Myanmar is to Beijing, strategically and economically," said an Asian diplomat, who follows the relationship closely. Beijing is also eyeing some major development and infrastructure projects throughout Myanmar -- which would all be part of China's strategic vision. Ms Suu Kyi herself is scheduled to visit Beijing in mid-May for the "One Belt, One Road" summit.
